Sitting here in the Language Lab… I conveniently left my lab assignment in my dorm room however, so I’ve just been sitting here listening to Modest Mouse and going through kanji flashcards. It’s so unnerving to sit here and not have anything to do in lab, knowing that I have SO much else to do! I have a broadcasting midterm tomorrow (which counts for 1/3 of my grade), a Japanese test, and many other assignments due. My experience with language labs in general is that they’re a waste of time. If you monitored every student’s computer, I’d be willing to bet that more than half are checking their myspaces, facebooks, what have you… (for me, wordpress.. ^^). Also, I can do every assignment Hammondo Sensei assigns comfortably from my own computer in my room! Also, it’s my last class of the day, which makes it even more difficult to mentally persuade myself to go every Tuesday and Thursday.
Sorry… Like I said, bored with nothing to do.
On a slightly more humorous note, I started out Language Lab by putting my headphones in the wrong plug, so the lab got an ear-full of Lou Reed’s “Sweet Jane” for about 2 minutes before I realized that I was not the only one enjoying it… (or not enjoying it…)
